Default steering i need help!!!

hello to all sorry have not been on in a while. i have been renovating our house to put on the market. it is now on the market and hope it will sell soon. i have put alot of work in this house in the last 6 mo.if you like you can go to www.cbbh.com/vanessag for a virtual tour. in the mean time we have bought another house at lake wylie. so we have been back and fourth. i have to have some dreaging done there and a boat lift installed beside the covered boat slip. they will start that after the fourth. NOW THAT BRINGS ME TO THE POINT. TOOK THE DAYDREAMER TO MY BUDDYS SHOP TO PUT A SEAL KIT IN THE HYDRALIC OUTBOARD STEERING CYLINDER AS IT WAS LEAKING LAST YEAR. WELL THE SHAFT THAT GOES THRU THE CYLINDER IS SCARD UP.SO I NEED A NEW(TO HIGH FOR ME) OR A USED ONE IN GOOD SHAPE. IT IS A SEA STAR HC5340-42. IT IS MOUNTED ON A 1994 JOHNSON 175 OCEAN RUNNER. ANY ONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS? I NEED TO FIX THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, SO I CAN GET THE DAYDREAMER TO HER NEW HOME! IT SUCKS TO HAVE A DOCK BUT NO BOAT AT IT !!!!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ALL.

you can buy the shaft separately thru teleflex, but realistically, when you add in the seal kit, and labor, it may be cheaper to buy a whole new cylinder

I'm not much help with your issue but wanted to say congrats on your new digs at Lake Wylie. Been there many times over the past 7 or 8 years. My mother-in-law retired from Charlotte Pipe and Foundry and they have 5 big lakefront houses in the River Hills section. They let the employees use the houses on a rotation schedule so we'd get to stay there for a week or two each summer. An absolutely beautiful lake. Sadly, since she retired last year we won't be making it down there anymore.

Sounds like you've got a nice little slice of heaven there. Congrats!
