I am trying to removed the PO's registration #'s and I can get the plastic off but the adhesive is still there. What works best to get everything off?

Mineral spirits always works for me. It takes a little time to get the solvent to break down the adhesive. Try keeping a spot wet with a rag then add a little rubbing action.

Yep, it's slow and safe.
Lacquer thinner will do it quicker but will slightly degloss the finish and need buffing or polishing afterwards. Also try a slightly dull single edged razor blade in combination with the mineral spirits.

I've always used acetone for removing the adhesive, but it does strip the surface finish off.

WD40 works great at removing adhesive and does not damage the finish.
