All of the AQ series can be rebuilt still attached to the transom shield, except the 290 & 290dp series they have to be removed from the shield. The attached end the shield is what has to be pulled thru the 2 end caps. I had to send mine to a shop, it took 10 tons of pressure to press them out. Now that they have come out I can and will pressure my out with the grease fitting to keep them free. I would like to get another good set of cylinders. I'll contact him to see if he has set or the rebuild kits. Thanks for keeping a eye out for me.

I did find a notice from Volvo that recommended not using ATF in the cyl's, they flushed mine and replaced with oil. The notice said that some of the O rings and seals are made to react (swell) with motor oil and have a tendency not to swell with ATF. So far (cross fingers) it has not leaked.
We'll see. I'm putting it in the water Friday or Sat and trying it.
