I have used it for the last couple years in my 4.3 litre V6 I/O and so far, so good. Recommended shot of it with a full tank in the winter followed by another shot in the spring. It seems, however, that the I/O's are a little more tolerant of ethanol than are the outboards.

I use Marine Sta-bil but I also use Sea Foam along with it. When I put boat away for the winter I completely fill both tanks and treat heavy with Sta-Bil & Sea Foam. Each springtime I have never had one single issue starting up, and the 175 Johnson runs great. Maybe it's just me having such great luck? I do know this, I will not change my routine seeing as it works great for me. Had the carbs rebuilt when I first bought the boat and they have been fine and clean since, with no issues whatsoever. During the season I use the normal dose required by Sta-Bil and Sea Foam makers with never an issue.

No, but they can help prevent it if you use them properly. It sure keeps me busy now with ethanol at the pumps. unfortunately ethanol cost me a bundle this week with aggrevation from my chainsaws.

Give the BRP Johnson/Evinrude 2+2 fuel stabilizer----A try--you will be pleasently pleased with your purchase---I have tried just about everything with this crap fuel---and I have been happiest with this product--it ran like I had fresh fuel in it--not 6 month old fuel or like half dead fuel like Sta-bil or seafoam or even ---startron--which was second best.

What is the 2+2 formula? Is it a carb and cylinder cleaner or a fuel conditioner/stabilizer formula.
