SkunkBoat is actually the 2nd Skunk Boat. Although I haven't put a name on it, I fly the Skunk flag proudly.
The original Skunk Boat was a 16 ft Sylvan aluminum "bass" boat with a Tohatsu 40. Its been from Key West to the St Lawrence river. It got the nickname one summer after a particularly bad stretch of getting skunked (fishing and/or drinking?). We then named it officially and my sister painted Pepe Le Pew on the sides. My brother & I bought it used in '88 when we we're in our 20's. We sort of traded ownership a few times. My brother since moved up to a 29' Aquasport in FL . The summer of 98 the aluminum split on a seam above the waterline. I parked it in a field and bought my V20 in '99. Sprayed the Tohatsu with fogger and pulled the cord every other year. In '08 I patched the tear and dragged it down to Alabama. My bother got a place on Lake Weiss. The Tohatsu fired up with almost no effort and now we're catchin freshwater stripers in his backyard.

She is the Genie Aye---it is a name game played on my mom--all of my vessel's have carried this name----so that I will always have her watching over me to get home safely off the water--sometimes I do not seem to know when to say when till I get out several miles and have to turn around.

Mine was named "BONESHAKER" by the previous owner. I never asked him why, but the name seems ta fit. I buffed the remains of the letters off when restoring it, but plan to put them back on the transom.
