Yea that pool comes in real handy, gotta give credit to my wife on that one.

It really is such a great layout. I do want to rig up a portable bench to put in the back of it though. I've seen a few on this site, that will be my first project i think.

Welcome to the site. Great looking boat and family you have.

One quick thought. Like you said, you're new to the boating world, so maybe you don't know this. I'm not trying to throw water on your parade, but in NJ at least, it's against the law for children under 12 to be on a boat without wearing a life preserver... and it's just good common sense too. It only takes one rogue wave from a passing boat with someone sitting high up on a seat for them to get thrown overboard.

I appreciate the heads up. As long as i understand the law right, in Florida they only need to be wearing a life jacket if the vessel not anchored and in motion, and if the children are under 6 years old. Unless we are more than 9 miles offshore, then they must wear at all times. So basically i have them wear them until we anchor.

High five to your wife!!...wish I had thought of the pool-inna-boat idea when my girls were that size (graduating college now)...great idea!!

For your 1st boat, you picked a great start w/a 21...as you're finding out, very versatile boat...w/LOTS of floor space...for a rear bench seat, you might consider one of these...

http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...t&merchID=4005

This particular one might not do as it looks like a permanent mount...but you get the idea...additional cooler/fishbox space, seating and should be able to mount so it's easily removed...there are others around like this, only not so expensive.

Destroyer's comments...following the law is one thing...being vigilant around your kids is more important...kids around water is a dicey situation at best and you're hearing this from a guy who RAISED two taking them boating/fishing every chance we could...and along the way, there were some close calls I must admit...eyes off for seconds can make the difference...my two are grown up and WATER-PUPPIES to the core!!...Ya'll have FUN!!...
