On the 1st page of this site, click on Gallery and search thru...70 thru 77 were much like the 74 you have...some outboard, some inboard/outboard.
The V20 pictured below is a 74 outboard, I had from '99 to '10

Congrats on your new aquisition...

Hi PM.

Welcome to the site. My first V20 was an I/O 74 way back when...
They're great boats that handle the water better than boats twice their size. Roomy and reliable... a little lean on creature comforts but rugged as all get out. I think you hit the jackpot.

so got some more info from the person who gave it to me. The motor is an inline 6 chevy. He had a cracked cylinder so he got a new (used) block and had it bored and oversized pistons put in said it runs good but has the original mechanical advance distributer and he mentioned that I might want to replace it at some point with an electrical one. also the original mercruiser outdrive had some issues with the drive shaft so he switched it for a newer alpha one 3.0 unit. It definetly needs some cleaning and some tlc which he was in the middle of doing but has gotten sick and can no longer do. Bonuses that I found apon opening it up where Loran depth finder/ fish finder. fairly nice marine radio. newer canvas top and misc, gear anchors rope etc. the big bonus was when i opened one of the wells up and found two like new penn down riggers. checked the floor and it seemed solid everywhere i walked, and the transom also seemed to be solid from what i could tell. deffinetly need to pull all the teak and sand it and stain. want to replace the captains chair and sand and paint from the rub rail up

Saw you pictures and it looks just like my '73, or will with some TLC. I don't have the L passenger seat either. I also had a cracked block and replaced it with boring and over sized pistons. Welcome to the club.
