I think you can also get to some of the foam from taking out the rod holders..I know the foam is for safety but i HATE the stuff ..Had a few boats over the years and they all had saturated foam from one degree to another..Its like wet snow and when its gets wet it weights a TON.. the bad part is there is no way to get it out ,,,you have to dig it out.. I did here that there was a liquid that you can pour on it and it will desove it but i have looked and looked all over the net and in stores and cant find the stuff ..I have poured everthink from gas to acid on it and no luck..

how old is your hull? not very many had foam under the deck from the mid 80's & older. mine is an 83 and no foam, i think all of the in deck fuel tanks were foamed in, but that is only in the fuel cell compartment.

My 87 has foam, I fish way out there, & I like the idea that it won't sink.

Aussie, you can always just weigh the boat, mines a cuddy with a big 200 merc & aluminum tandem trailer, it goes about 3200 pounds.

If you keep them under cover & keep your deck sealed & drains open wet foam is much less of a problem.

Back to the original thread, did you get your truck to run cooler?

I tried pulling mine with a Toyota T-100 I just bought, 150hp 4cyl, not bad until you hit the interstate!
