in twin inboard applications(propshaft thru the bottom of the boat, not sterndrive), one engine turns opposite the other so, counter acting props can be used to tame torque steer. This is ususlly done by swapping hte timing chain set for a gear to gear, it allows the cam to spin the same direction, but the crank spins oposite normal direction. requires a special cam as well. If you are planning to repower your boat, I'd look at soemthing a little more mordern like a chevy power plant, easier to get parts for it. 4.3 V6 would be a nice size
