I don't think using hardened push rods will solve your problem. I think it may be more of a lash/geometry issue. there is a way to set the valve lash with various length push rods. You have to get the lifter all the way deflated to check the lash. I allways wanted to use a set of adjustable rocker arms on the head, you can use a set made for a 429/460 Ford or adapt a set from a big block checy. It may take a little work, But I bet it would be worth it, it would solve your valve train issues

ok ill check the preload on the lifters and check the rockers slots r not bottoming out i have been look for rollers yella terra make a bolt on one bug i want to avoid buying 16 of them and the push rods r hardened the engine could not of been valve bounching it was only 4000 rpm and the valve springs and double ones may be a tight guide ill let u o im my progress spareparts thanks

ah maybe when you spun the prop the rpms went a little higher then you thought. just get a push rod install and check the lash like spareparts said get a newer style prop with a sleeve and away you go!
