thats insane! I hope this pushes merc and yamaha to push the limits of their big motors. This could get exciting.

I know Yamaha could go bigger with their V8, no need to now as they sell more by limiting the hp to 350. Merc would probably have to start with a fresh motor design as hte Verado is maxed out. I still have yet to see a 350 Verado in person

both can go bigger. I've been to several verado classes and 350 is not even close to the full potential of that motor. I have driven boats with 350sci's. They are no joke. But they still use very little boost. I have heard that block can handle almost 600 hp. I'm sure the yammi can handle as much too but they are lacking the need for speed that mercury racing division has. I'm sure EPA regulations play a big part too. If you ever get a chance to drive a boat with the 350sci take it! those things really spool up. |

I wish someone out there would figure out how to bolt a Verado blower to a Yamaha V8. That oughta do it

I'm surprised Ferm or Skools hasn't already done that with a diesel.

I'm still very sceptical with the verado 350 SCI, for the displacement, they are making a lot of power, they have to be blowing a ton of boost thur those motors. I've also noticed the 350 SCI is listed as a racing motor, not general produciton. I've also noticed anything from the 250 Pro and up require 92 octance fuel to make max power. The only boats I've seen tested or written up with the 350 SCI has been factory sponsored boats. Ive seen enough of their lower HP verados blow apart around here. There are palnety of verado powered boat around here, most of them could benifit from the extra HP, but I have yet to see one with 350's. The Yamaha 350 has enough displacemnt to go much higher in HP with out doing much, I fugure they are selling more of them by limiting the HP to only 350. As far as combining the two, theres a guy on scream& fly who supercharged a 225 Honda, he's got it on a 28-30 cat that hauls butt. Its under the emmisons engine thread, he's from Sweden, he has some great videos on his thread.
