riding up to the locks is pretty cool, not much on the other side though. Locks have been giving problems, I think they are closed for repairs now

the choices are endless. Inshore you have spottail(redfish, red drum), speckled trout, flounder, and a ton of misc trash fish. We get some small blues inside as well. All you'll need for this is light inshore spinning reels, I use 7ft medium action 10 lbs rods Penn 4300 SS's, spooled with 25lb braid. Live bait under a float, or lead head jigs. Nothing fancy. If you want to venture outside, theres the endless undersize black sea bass, all at 11" for bottom fishing. I've heard the spades have been showing up earlier, don't know pesonally, you might have to run out further. Offshore should be on fire(Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo), but its a bit far for a V to get to, figure a minimum run to 35 miles out, hottest spots are 72 miles out. If we run up the river, we'll be going from salt to fresh. Stripers are in the river, I don't know much about catching them though. Large mouth, catfish, crappie, brim, all the fresh water stuff. If we go into the lake, there are some monster catfish and plenty of stripers. Check out charlestonfishing.com for fishing updates, trends, and info. Make sure to check the SCDNR regulations for fishing liscense and limits. If we go up the river, you'll will need the fresh and saltwater liscense. I didn't want to be the "camp director" with the clip board and whistle, figured I'd just let every one do what they want and we'd meet up at the end of the day. If there is something that you'd be interested in doing, let me know. Do some research on line about all the sights to see around here. I'm lucky enough to live here, I can see them any time.

BTW, WIlly, If you come early enough, I have a pig hunt set up for you.

Sounds like Lee & Willy definately wanna fish...who else is leaning that way?...most all?...or how many wanna cruise around, spend the time boating and seein' the Charleston area from waterside?...

I'm happy doin either...depending on how long yer gonna be down, you could squeeze in some of both...

Spare's right about referencing charlestonfishing.com...and SCDNR...

Reel, what you think about puttin in at "The Dock" in Monks Corner and running down on Friday for any one that shows up early, that leaves Sat for general ridin. If the weatehr is sucky on Sat, we can allways ride back up. I'll see what teh stripers are doing on the lake, I've got access to a pontoon on the lake if you want to try fishin the stripers.

I'm telling you guys, one weekend is not enough

I'm up for a cruising, drinking hanging out sight seeing thing or a mix. Don't bother me none, would love to just see what the area looks like from land and sea.
Mostly I'm coming down to meet up with you fellows and share some time together. I just need a break from working my arse off up here and 15 degree weather. If we wet a line inshore that will just be an extra in my mind.
I will have 12-13 hours to discuss it with Rob on the way down, I will be ready for anything, it's my nature.
