You never know what might happen.
I ended up accidentally finding my Grandfathers V. He bought it new in 1975, have it back a little over 3 years.

Don't know about your state but Georgia has an on-line data base with way too much info about the boats registered. Easy as typing in the registration number, gives you name and address, etc.

Try this.
Go to the state in questions website for boat registration/renewal and see if there is a database available to search for the boat in question.
Might get lucky!
