I saw they were USCG approved after I made that post. And yes, they were only used to prime the system, they didn't run all the time. I might have manual on them, I'll see if I can dig it up.

skools, i used to fish with a buddy who had a mid 80's sportcraft with a 4 cyl seadrive and he had a similar fuel pump . he would press the button on the console until the pump got quiet, to prime the system. instead of squeezing the ball. maybe with the closed in transoms, just too hard to get to the primers on certain boats?

hum that's what this was an OMC Sea-Drive boat. what size fuel inlet / outlet would you say use for these 225's as primers on the pumps? i guess the motors fuel pump will suck gas thru the primer pump.

not sure of size, but as with most things in life, bigger is better.
we always had better luck with the round type of pump above on our ditch witchs. the wisconsin engines used a side mount diaphram pump that was a pia to get to when mounted on the trenchers. we just went to napa and got the elec pump and mounted on the frame upstream of the mech one. we always got the 3-5 psi pump. |

yeah my diesel has a lift pump on it which i thought of using but it's 7 to 9 lbs and my tractor i put one at the tank so when or if it ran out of gas i could prime it with out killing the battery first.
