I use to own the 160 and 165 or 163?? garmin and they both worked great!

I sold them with the V20 but always got me home and found fish, I could see my line jigging off the bottom, is was great.

A buddy I striper fished with had a 160 blue. No problem seeing the bait and fishies. I liked it so well I decided on a garmin 250df when I was bought mine.

I wont comment on garmin because I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS.

I have dealt with all manufacturers of marine electronics and by far Garmin is the best! The older units are alright, but the new stuff is great. They have outstanding customer service and the longevity of the machines are great. If you have any problems with that unit, just call tech services. They are awesome. Northstar/Lowrance/Simrad ( all Navico products ) are junk, IMO. Wish you the best in the boat shopping.

Everyone has their favorites.. I like Garmin. I also like Lowrance and Hummingbird. If a company didn't make good products they would not be in business for long. With the internet everyone has access to tons of info, so ppl will know if a product is bad in a short time. That being said, any product that is on the market for a while means it's good. (IMHO)

I use a 182C with a chip and I'm really happy with it. I just installed it on my new boat (took it off my skiff). Their factory support is hard to beat.
