Skool, I thought you had better taste in motors. That Merc will do just fine for me. I am with Blue on this one.. What brand is the boat anyway it has some interesting lines.

oh i do have better taste no Black motors for me, I more than dislike mercs. I have a 1996 BlackMax Merc 150 in my way in my shop, It runs but it's still as merc / anchor.

I think all looks great!! I have a problem with the Black motor also, O well.
But my real issue is that motor & bracket looks low?? anything on a bracket IMO should be a 30" leg, these motors are way to low in the water and you need the 30 shaft to get them out. I have a nice 4 stroke on my 23 Sea Ox and its to low also! The V20 I put bracket on for a 25 and it was to low. Other wise Lumber better watch out cause this thing is going to be a thing of beauty!

I do agree with the 30" leg with a single on a big boat. Big waste of time to argue about what brand motor is better. I am happy with my Mercs, they are/were made in the USA and they haul a$$. I try to stay with US made goods whenever possible. Too many people love the Yamaha to ignore their prowess but it feels good to do the wrong thing sometimes.
