Default 1976 v20

got a question....

looking at a 76 V20.. I/O... looks pretty good and price is right...

the owner says it has a chevy inline 6 cyl. in it.... was this

a standard motor for this boat?

Shows a 165hp I/O as max power. But twin 115hp outboards.
Entire 1976 catalog.

Just at a glance, it appears Mercrusier (Chevrolet engine) used an in-line 6, 165hp, 250CID, from 1970-1978.

thanks will check it out.... he now says it needs a coil... its about 100 miles away so will need to get a travel kit to check it out completely

From a owner of two line sixs they can be a great motor if taken care of but if its not properly drained the water jack that runs under the exhaust manifold WILL crack!! make sure you check this area really good .
