i worry about the stuff in the water column. the stuff on top can be skimmed & scooped. the beach is not the problem, relatively easy to clean, but the marshes and reefs will be almost impossible.

Truth be known, I'm more worried about what they were spreading as a dispersant than I am about the oil. Oil leaks naturally from the ocean floor all the time.. not in this quantity I know, but God has a way of having nature clean itself...
I cannot agree with you Charlie.. The Human race will/must endure. We make mistakes, that's for sure. We're very good at it. But we have this capacity to learn, to grow. That's what we need to do now. Again, and without trying to sound like a bible thumper, I know humans are special, cause God don't make no s**t. We'll get up, dust ourselves off, and hopefully we'll learn from this. The only way humans are going to leave this planet is when the Big Man says it's time to go. Thank God it's stopped. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

yes...... god.
we sure do learn and grow. we're growing at an alarming rate so what do we do? lets eliminate anything natural from the earth so we can spread our legs. rainforest? gone. oceans? gone. we wont learn from this. we will do it again or make it worse because we are a plague. we have evolved into a disease and yes, the earth will heal itself, only after we've gone. and there wont be any "big man" who makes the decision, we will do it all ourselves.

I agree with both of you.
You may or may not know I like to hunt for native american artifacts aka arrowheads as most people call them. It has been a while since I've posted any of my finds. But, when you look back at how these native people lived I think it is amazing how well they took care of the environment. They did not pillage the land and resources at all. They only took what they needed and basically did not pollute the environment at all for THOUSANDS of years. You might say they did not have the means to pillage, plunder, and pollute? I wonder why that is? I like to think it is because they were perfectly happy with what they had and did not yearn to have MORE MORE MORE like we do today. Just look at how far this country has evolved in little more than 200 years. Seems wimpy compared to THOUSANDS, doesn't it? And to think we killed them all (most) in order to claim thier land and natural resources - very sad. We should have tried to co-exist and learn from them what it means to be a good patron to the environment. Or would we have just corrupted them with our way of thinking? Hmmm...
