Rob, that works for me. If it comes about let me know and we can caravan down there together. I'm guessing that you go down 287?

I may try to make it down. I work in NY/NJ, so may not be too much of a trip for me from work. Would really like to meet some fellow V captains.

ok so the weekend of July 17,18 sounds like a winner. Tices shoal is a great place to meet up. It worked out great last year.

Absolutely...its set in stone now it seems unless somebody wants to lobby for a change...7/17 at Tice's shoal it seems to be...I do usually take 287 all the way down to the parkway...for some reason I'm still tempted to take 24 and cut over to the parkway as it is shorter but it still bites me in the *** every time I try it....My house is about 2 minutes off of 287 exit so its real easy for me.

As it gets closer we can firm things up... Last year when I went down we camped saturday night in a campground not far from the water. Definitely plan on staying again this time. Maybe with you in the mix I'll be able to get on the road earlier this year!

I live right off 23 close to Willowbrook, so actually 46 to 3 to the Parkway is shorter for me, but 46 to 287 works also. I have two sets of Cobra walkie-t's so we can talk while driving for emergencys etc. (I took my CB out long ago and it's a lot cheaper and easier than using cell phones) We could also take 78 eastbound.. that would bring us to the parkway right at the Union plaza interchange. Not sure if that would be shorter... I'll plan a few routes tonight and see which one has the least miles. There was a spot that locals know of right near Forked River State Marina where you can launch for free, then it's a 5 minute run down river and then almost straight across the bay to Tices and the lighthouse. Not sure if it's still there, but I think it is... I'll check Goggle Earth and find out. But if you have a favorite launch area that's fine with me also.

Anyone else want to join the parade? I have 4 radio's total, so there's room for more in the caravan.

Rob... As a follow-up... Yes, the free dirt ramp near the NJ State Marina in Forked River is still there. It's an easy launch, but trailer parking is limited. Typically it's first come, first served. We'd have to get there early. 39 49.895' 74 11.407' if you want to see it on Google earth. East Lakeside Drive

A little to the south in Waretown is a launch ramp that's due west of Tice's .... It's a fee to launch ramp, but it's a straight run to the other side of the bay. (So. Harbor Marine, 116 Oregon Ave. Waretown.)

If you have any other preferances I'm open to any suggestion. I have no pride of ownership in the above places... they are only suggestions.
