As a matter of fact, just a few posts down in Craigslist is this ad for remanufactured I/O engines with a 2 year warrantee for $1295 delivered!
http://newjersey.craigslist.org/boa/1725444154.html Someone could get what looks like a really nice 87' for under $3500 with just a little work.

So how big is the motor cover in a V20? Is it a good size to act as a table/cutting board? I'm considering going to take a look, but wondering how much the motor gets in the way. I have a 79 OB, so have the splashwell that comes into the deck a bit anyway... I've torn apart enought old GM engines in my time that I'm not afraid of the motor.
Can anyone comment on the outdrive in 1987? Good/bad, easy /cheap to replace? |
