Lake Texhoma and Lake Murry in Oklahoma most of the time.
Want to do some stripper fishing big time.
I hope some one gets on here to least show me ways to get started
on my local lakes.

I bought my dog from your state, dam rat!!

Welcome to the site!! Not sure we have anyone that far inland? But I am sure them striper hybrids are about the same to catch as the wild guys?

Hey Deep!!...welcome to the fun!!...if you found an 87 w/no dents or dings, you did pretty good!!...

I do a LOT of freshwater striper fishing...how you fish for them, largely depends on what kind od bait or lures are available to you...our main "go to" is live Herring...bat-shops around here sell them now, but back in the day we used to stay up all night and net them under lights, then fish stripers all day w/ the herring for bait...15-20 lb line and a 1 1/2 oz barrel-sinker to get you down to them...in winter we free-line w/only the hook thru the herring's nostrils...free-lining requires an electric trolling motor to move around SLOWLY (just enough to keep the free-lined bait out behind the boat)...let me know what yer using and I'll try to steer you to 'em...large minnows (shiners) work great too...here's a local freshwater record caught last year...63 lb 4 oz...

I don't even know this guy, but I wish I did!!...

The lake trial was very good. The boat flies, well it felt that way.
Idles smooth and had plenty of power Felt like 45mph but did not
have gps to check. The outboard ended up being a Yamaha 200.
The hour meter was showing 350hrs so who knows but I'm happy with it.

I never even been around any fish that big. Or as far as that goes.
Did not know they were real ,hey you got a picture so there you go.

My son said we would probably be in the 3 to 10 lbs range.

I did take some pictures but they are in the 2 meg range so I will check to see what it takes to upload some.

Lake Texhoma is around 87000 acres in size. I been looking at some of
the fishing guide's site pictures and they can be quite nice looking.

I'm way happy just retired last month with no worries, lots to look forward to.

Hey Deep,

Welcome. I was starting to like you until you said "retired" you dirty dog. I was close, and the real estate market did one of these to me.

Only been to OK once - Ft. Sill reserve summer camp years ago - a little more humid than I was used to. I'm part of a small outpost of V-20 guys out on the left coast, but I can tell you this is a great community of guys. You won't come up with a problem that someone doesn't know how to solve.

Re: the pictures, when you get them down to 600 x 800, look in the "How to" part of the forums - posting's pretty easy.

Enjoy the boat

Default Welcome aboard

Welcome Deep.. That 200 Yammy should top you out at about 55 to 65, depending on load, wind, current, etc.. That's a lot of motor for a V20, so just be careful in the turns and look far ahead..
Not too sure about inland Stripers, but we use Herring up and down the east coast to land some pretty impressive cows. Might want to try drifting a bloodworm or two if there's any current in the lake... I've taken many a Striper that way.. just a hook and a worm... doesn't get any better than that.
