Anyway, JeanF, I think you need to try to rephrase it because I have read your post several times and I cannot figure out what you are asking (and I think Tuna is in the same boat). Maybe MJ the windtalker knows exactly what you are saying though.

OK, read it again along with your original post in this thread. It seems you are looking to make a rod holder out of 2" tubing that is commonly used for automotive pipes. Sounds like you are going to make a support bracket (hence the bending and welding) and then the individual rod holders out of the same material, then have the whole rig painted. Am I on the right track?

Looked at Simple Gesture's gallery and now know you are wanting to build basically a radar arch to use for rod holders. I do not know whether automotive exhaust tubing would work or not. Some one else will have to weigh in on that question.
