Thanks for the replies. I am told that he already has the pistons and that we just need to purchase the "jug head." If nothing else, we could try to fix it and sell it to put money towards a better suited outboard. The only reason I say that is because this guy will do the work for very cheap if we want. The major thing would be the cost of parts.

A wise man once told me that there is no such thing as a good, cheap, and honest mechanic. You can get 2 out of 3, but not all 3.

You just need to come to Florida is all. I work for about half of what everybody else charges, stand behind my work, and do warranty replacements on parts without charging. Yet I still can't get any work from people with enough money to pay me.
