I use Starbrite PTEF Polish with Teflon on the Rosborough. We have a tough time with soot from the local coal powerplant settling on the boat. This stuff seems to make it easier to wash off the soot.
http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?...1453&id=939453 I also like the deck cleaner made by Starbrite. It seems to work better then Woody wax. http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?...1454&id=207273

I think he spent a few days in the hospital after Willy's visit too...but I think there was another liquid involved other than boat soap...I don't know...I'm just sayin'...

Yea Reel and Spare
I didn't use good gloves and it ran down inside the gloves and soaked into my skin. It gave me a bad reaction. Use with good gloves. I put it on and I haven't had to do anything since, it makes the boat look nice. I'll use it again I'll just wear some long sleeve gloves that go up to my elbow. Ain't cheap but goes on quick and easy and lasts a long time. P/s I went into the hospital after Wille left so they could treat me for something the southern doctors described as "yankee syndrome" they said us southerners get it after a high impact visit from someone who really lives "way up north".

So it was the poli-glo that gave you the reaction?

After you prep the hull by using the diluted blue prep solution and a scotch brite pad (basically wet sanding with chemicals). Then you use the applicator provided in the kit to wipe the stuff on. The shine builds as you apply more coats, six coats work real well. You never wipe it off. Lasts about a year depending on your lattitude and how you store the vessel. Reapply every year from now on OR use the prep full strength with more scrubbing to remove the Poli-Glow and go back to compounding and waxing??? Since the sealer reminds me of floor wax the prep is probably industrial strength floor stripper. Did the prep make you sick, give you chemical burns, or did the sealer mess you up? |
