Them things are pretty sweet, you just thought you got good economy out of that MERC. Be careful not to tear up the starter though, always look at the tach before you hit the keyswitch. Quite a few people have ground the starter teeth down by hitting the starter when it's running cause them things are so quiet. Just make sure your bracket is bolted on tight though, that is one heavy SOB compared to a 2 stroker.

Thats good advice ferm!! I can see me now trying to start it that way!!

Motor is 220 pounds havier then the 175 Merc, coming in at 583 pounds.

Actual weight is closer to 650-670 pounds on that YAMAHA MJ. YAMAHA weighed them without a prop, oil or any accesories on it.

If it's like when I swapped out the old Rude for the Honda, you won't hear the motor runnin', but you will hear the pisser pissin'!!...another thing you'll notice is lack of vibration...it's like ya got a whole new boat, stem to stern ......congrats on the upgrade, MJ!!...
