I would agree with that, I do rev it up pretty good at the boat ramp to get her moving.

hum i may want to think on that one then. i still want a 572 in it lol. but want to make it easier on fuel lol.

Try and find a 5.3L or one of the light duty HO 6.0L engines then. The 6.0L is a strong running engine for it's size, and more than decent on fuel. Most all of the new style GM engines in a small block turn up some RPM's though.

fishing buddy has a pu with the 4.8 and loves it. he pulls a 25 wellcraft w twins tothe ramp and back(slowly & carefully). his truck has about 140,000. it is 4wd and 4 lo gets it up the ramp ok.
