Wow, it is really looking great. I am not sure of this, and I hope others weigh in, but I do not think the way you did the bunks is good for your hull. I think you need to have the hull sitting on the wider portion of the 2x6 bunks. I have only seen pretty small boats sitting on bunks oriented vertically like yours are. Just looks like too much weight sitting on a 1 1'2" wide bunk. My trailer is set up much like yours, but with swivels on the top of the metal posts which hold the bunk, so the bunk can sit on an angle to match the hull.

Those are actually 4 X 8 bunks meant to be mounted vertically. Solid and quite heavy.
They have an angle on the top to accomodate for the hull angle. I know the bunks you are talking about which are sideways 2X6 or so. Very common to see trailers with these bunks down here for some reason. I guess it might have to do with our marinas and ramp heights. This site shows the two different models: http://www.continentaltrailers.com/ |

Looks like you are good to go Joe. Sorry, just looked like 2 x 6" in the picture. Best of luck with your rig and have a blast with it!

I have the 3x8's on edge too & it seems to be a much sturdier arrangement, a 2 x 6 flat bend way too easy so your support is only close to where the brackets are.
I was skeptical of them when I bought the boat but it is one of the asiest to use & sturdiest trailer rigs I've used. Nice lookin' rig Doug
