I hate to be the first to say but, i dont know if i would put a nice motor on a transom that looks like that. I dont see how it couldnt be toast with all of that stuff exposed.

What do you mean "looks like that" ? At the picture shown is getting prepped to be glassed as i explain, what else you see wrong?

I miss read where you said you had removed the cap. and it did look like it had been wet at one time. Did you test it for moisture tho? Drill a hole see what the wood looks like?

Queens and Greenport. I got this boat so i can explore the south side, my other boat is in Southold.

Thanks, i'm trying to work a little everyday on the boat, but i'm really bussy with work and don't have a lot time.

Yeah, i did the moisture meter thing and also the knife point thing on all holes, wood is dry and strong everywhere, the transom is really solid.
