I agree 100% that you got a steal. With the way the guy sold it to you (i.e. put it on and if you like it pay me), it will probably be a very good motor. Congratulations!

Yeah, i think so too, he also claims that had the injectors and VST cleaned.

I hate to be the first to say but, i dont know if i would put a nice motor on a transom that looks like that. I dont see how it couldnt be toast with all of that stuff exposed.

What do you mean "looks like that" ? At the picture shown is getting prepped to be glassed as i explain, what else you see wrong?

I miss read where you said you had removed the cap. and it did look like it had been wet at one time. Did you test it for moisture tho? Drill a hole see what the wood looks like?

Yeah, i did the moisture meter thing and also the knife point thing on all holes, wood is dry and strong everywhere, the transom is really solid.
