Don't you know the Secret Service is suffering. Protecting the current POTUS would be one hell of a busy detail. I cannot believe they would let this guy get to within 100 yards. Dollars for doughnuts they had more than a single set of cross-hairs on this guy the entire time. I applaud him for exercising his right to open-carry but wonder about his mental state.

It don't appeal at all, I agree. FL is a conceal carry state with license and that ain't allowed.

the only problem with guns at the schools around here has been with the Goose Creek City Police missuse of fireams at Stratford High School a few years back.

I bet some people at Columbine and at Virginia Tech wish that there was a regular citizen there with a concealed carry on them.
Walking into a day care with a side arm on is not really the point is it? The point is that Americans are the only people in the world right now outside the Swiss that have a legal right to own and use firearms for self defense and we need to protect it so we don't end up like a bunch of sheep and punami's like we have all over Europe and slaves of the state like we have over the rest of the world. In the end the down fall of every country is the State, and the Statist's that put them in office. In this country the people were endowed with Constitutional rights by men with intelligence way beyond their peers before or since. The first was the right to free speech and assembly, the second, though some would argue the first in importance is the right to keep and bear arms. This right though not exercised often in public is not the right to hunt, or to trap shoot, this right specifically involves the right of free men to take down a government that threatens their rights. This is the point he is making, though I do not agree with the way he did it is that free men need to remind the Statist's and the sheep that feel that they know whats best for us that free men will do what ever is needed to prevent a omnipotent government from ruling us or going to far away from the Constitution. That reminder is what got a lot of attention with the State controlled media, the reminder that there are still free men here and they will stay that way. One way or another.

Let's say your morning routine is to drop your 2yr old and 4yr old off at daycare every morning before you go to work...you have walked them into the daycare building and while yer sayin' yer howdydos to the staff and kissing the loves of your life goodbye for the day, a guy walks in wearing a loaded handgun strapped to his thigh. Some on this thread advocate it's OK to wear weapons on your person in open, public places. I'm just wondering if a daycare center is an appropriate place for one to demonstrate that right...just because he can. And keep in mind, you don't know this person, don't know his background, training in gun-saftey or anything else about him.
