The guy I got mine from had zero mechanical ability, but lots of $, so when it quit on him a couple of times, he went out and replaced it with a 23' Striper (I think he gave about $65,000). He had fished the V-20 for several years in the ocean off California, and told me later that the V was much better in the ocean than his new, bigger boat.
My part of the story is that they offered him $1700 trade-in, he said "I don't think so - I love my boat, I just don't know how to fix it" so my daughter did a bunch of work for him, got the boat and presented me with it on my birthday in '05. Got it running a year later and it's a great boat - hope to post some Columbia River Salmon pictures this year. So, JJJ, you got a girlfriend now :)
