ditto w/ my 150 yami. I take her to the lake after the salt. I can count on one hand how many times I've put muffs on it. The alarm did not go off the first few times because I shut it down after noticing poor water flow coming out of the pisser. Last time I was trying to work out an idle issue (this year) and needed to run it longer. It probably wasn't more than 2 minutes and the alarm goes off. It just can't get enough water up where it needs to be with muffs only.

It has to do with how the Yammies are set up for drainage, even though you have good hose pressure they do not build up enough pressure inside to keep things cool, especially on a hot day.

My 98 200 Yami flushes easily with GOOD hose water pressure, but if pressure is low, sometimes it will not flush with "earmuffs". If pressure is low, I have to lower the engine so it picks sea water along with the muffs hose water, then when it starts flushing, I raise the motor and at high idle it continues flushing on hose alone, but I have to keep a close eye on the cooling water stream in case it stops.
