Do you have a second harness? or do you need the last 3 feet of the harness with the 8 pin connector . . . so you can wire a switch to it and use it as your test harness.

The Mercs aren't like the OMC's?
With no wire harness attached, the motor will crank up and run, just not shut off. Connect the jumper battery to the starter solenoid and jump from the starter relay to the positive post. You will have to choke the motor down in order to shut it off.

thanks,
i have a short 3 foot harness. the harness was cut when it was took out of boat. so all i need is the ignition switch to wire to that harness. |
