First time out with my (then) new 200, we hit 50 mph on slick water with the engine trimmed up.

I haven't seen that speed for a while, perhaps a little due to wear and tear, and probably more due to bottom growth (I've been neglecting her this year, but promise to do better). It'll still tear up the water when asked. More importantly it cruises very nicely at around 30 mph, and has a very quick hole shot.

I guarantee you that! The hole shot with my 150 is very quick to plane. I can't imagine a 200!

You know...the last time I was down there I saw two guys plodding along the side of the road in water skis and they had no arms!!...now I know!!

my v20 is powered by a 1990 225 yamaha hiding under a 1987 150 cowling. It really rips. My best speed was 53 mph by the gps.

yea its a real mutt motor. I had a fully dressed 225 powerhead that I rebuilt. I then dropped it on a 150 that was missing a powerhead. Everything bolted right up! Even the serial number on the clamp bracket is for the 150

That's ok, I have a 1986 150 yamaha hiding under an 86 225 V6 special cowling. maybe we should keep our respective cowlings and trade motor for sake of accuracy!

Building a Vortec V-6 for the old V-20 now. BHP was 190 but we'll see after all the machine work is done. My goal is to pass some friends running '31 Cape Horns!
