First time out with my (then) new 200, we hit 50 mph on slick water with the engine trimmed up.
I haven't seen that speed for a while, perhaps a little due to wear and tear, and probably more due to bottom growth (I've been neglecting her this year, but promise to do better). It'll still tear up the water when asked. More importantly it cruises very nicely at around 30 mph, and has a very quick hole shot. |

Original 470 Mecruiser seems to be plenty of power for me.

I have read threads were guys are posting speeds of up to 45 mph. I have a 93 Yahmaha 150, original motor with boat. Under good conditions what do you think a reasonable top speed is? It seems to cruise nice at about 27 mph at 4500 rpm.

I'm running a 175 Johnson. Plenty power and hole shot.
