Oh and Yamaha is the best IMHO, especially in the four stroke realm with Zuki right on their heels.
In two strokes obviously the newer ETEC's are the way to go, power to weight ratio is superb. In older engines, two strokes, it is often viewed by many as a toss up between the major manufactures. I have had great engines from Yamaha, Evinrude, Johnson, and even an old Mariner that was a tough SOB. I think if I had to pick from a rack of used two strokes in the same condition and price it would be a Yamaha for me followed by Johnson/Evinrude. A lot has to do with what you are used to and knowledgable about.

I've had a Honda 150 on mine since 04...flawless performance and real fuel-sipper from day one...
The 150-200 HP Etecs were not out when I had to repower...several of the guys here have used 'em and I believe it's a match made in heaven and would go w/the 200 inna heartbeat...perfect combo of weight and power for these hulls...
