only if you plan on rebuilding the transon would that work as the I/O has a thin lighter transon at the top. would be way to much work plus why would anyone want to do that and lose the best part of having a solid transom.

use a bracket. my current v-20 has teh bracket and compared to my first v-20 with the cut transom. You feel alot safer.
