On Monday we started out going to the aquarium on Roanoke Island

after that we drove around Wancheese and Manteo, I got to see where they build all those Carolina boats, Then we drove down to Bodie Island to check out the light there

,

we went down to Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, thats where the real boats dock up. I had to buy a hat.
Finsihed up the day at the house, watching the sun going down

On Tuesday we drove up to Corrolla and checked out how the rich people vacation, some really big houses up there. we went to the Currituck Light House, pretty neat, Kaylee and I went up in it( Only light house that was open)

Finished up the day setting at the house watching the sun go down

Wednesday we went to the Wright Brothers Memorial

My wife is just happy now that shes doen with Chemo, her hair has gotten longer than mine

Took the kids to the beach to fly some kites,

then went over to Jockeys Ridge to let tehm play on the sand dunes

You know your Southern when your kids make sand angels instead of snow angels, my kids have never seen enough snow to play in

Thusday, made the ride all the way down to Ocracoke, took the ferry over

saw the "wild horses"

The Ocracoke Light House

and the Hatteras Light House

drove back to the house just in time to catch another sunset

Friday, we drove right back down the Island, took teh Ocracoke Island ferry, then waited for the Cedar Island Ferry

had a picknic while we waited

Got on the Ferry and began a 2 and a half hour ride to Cedar Island

We just kept going South from there, driving thru Beaufort, Moorehead, Swansboro, Jacksonville, Sloop Point, WIlmington, crossed over back into SC, bypassed as much of Myrtle Beach as posible, ended up in Goose Creek laste Friday night. All in all, a great vacation. Next time I'm atleast going to bring the Mckee with me, adn I will make a point of getting together with Lee(garagenc).

great pics dave, we need to hook up next time. We can use the Kee to get around in some of the shallow areas going to my secret fishin holes. Alot of times I anchor and leave the V and walk another mile in ankle/knee deep water to the deep holes I've found. I use to fly around the beach and Currituck & Albermarle sounds looking for deep holes where fish would hole up and I was lucky enough to find a few.

Lee, sounds like a great idea! Reel I don't know for sure, but I think you can tow a boat on teh ferry, saw a couple of campers being pulled, as well as some large delivery trucks. I got the pictures mixed up, the ferry to Cedar Island was much bigger that the one shown. They charge $15 for the Cedar Island Ferrry for a normal size car, I don't think they charge that much more if you are towing. The Ocracoke Ferry was free. And as a far as how I look, thats a combination of less stress and a couple of beers.

Oh and by the way, the ducks in the second pic are decoys, took me a while to notice that they weren't moving, later on in the day we got quite a few mallards adn a bunch of Canadian honkers floatin in the midst of the decoys. We went to a place in Corrolla that had a musuem of sorts, they explained about how much duck hunting had gone on around there, it seems liek every where we went, we saw duck blinds built up in the sounds, even on the Ferry out of site of land
