That was the hardest thing for me, losing my dad. The more you love'em, the closer you are, the harder it is. Family is all we have, God Bless.

Thanks for posting Willy...

When we were down there, I sat and talked to Pop...his days in the Navy came up and I asked him what he did...he said he served aboard the U.S.S. Cowpens...as it turns out, my house is about 5 miles from the little historic town of Cowpens, SC for which that ship was named...The Battle of Cowpens was an important turning point in the Revolutionary War and the battlefield is preserved today...I explained all that to him and I could see his eyes light up and dance w/all the details I could provide about the ship he so proudly served on...later, I went to the Cowpens Public Library, copied some literature and publications from the war days about the ship and where she served...sent them to Franco to share w/his dad and Franco later told me Pop appreciated them very much.

Franco's dad is a prime example of why his is called "The Greatest Generation"...let us never forget or take for granted what we have today because Pop's generation went to war to preserve it.

Thanks, Pops!!
