I have one with the 5.7 and volvo penta dual prop but all I can get out of mine is 41-44mph at 4400 rpm

My ol' V has a 5.0L(305 c.i.) 230 HP w/a Volvo outdrive and that thing ran it's a s s off! It would run upper 40"s with full canvas up and about 54mph wide open with no canvas and a light load. I ended up replacing the 5.0 with a 350 c.i. and I never really got the chance to fine tune it, but I guess I would have picked up a mile or two per hour. And it was great on fuel, trolled like a bigger boat. Just got tired of working on it instead of fishing it!
