Easy, COMIFORNIA is a big state. Problem is that everyone thinks of just S.F & L.A. Where I live, hunting is a way of life and tradition. I take no offense, just get tired of being grouped with the wacko's in the city.

If we're not supposed to eat animals then how come they're made out of meat?

Reminds me of a time we went punkin' pickin' with the kids a few years ago. My wife made me buy a "guided" horse drawn hay ride to some of the "premium" patches. Along the way the driver would mention up little tidbits of information like "Here's our original farmhouse, built in 1755" or "that oak tree is 400 years old" or "George Washington slept here" or " you kin see our bee hives over yonder" to which many of the passengers oohed and ahhed.

As the wagon cut across the road and passed an out barn someone noticed and pointed out a half dozen calves in sepeate "igloo" style stalls and challenged the driver... "Are those THE VEAL CALFS! ? The driver, possibly a family member or at least a local boy, calmly replied, " No, Mamm, they is jus' young heifers, they all get that special treatment 'til they is yearlings". All of the comrades on the wagon responded with a big " Awwwwwww" and and had a group hug while the female with the short haircut who asked the question kicked back with a big self fullfilling smile on her face.

Then out of nowhere the driver offers up "Nope, they ships out the babies that'll be market veal a day or two after they're born".

DEAD SILENCE.

I look my wife straight in the eye and tell her, "We are stopping at Giorgios restaurant on the way home, make up your mind now. You need to be ready to tell them what you think.... Ziti or Linguini?

The hayride back was a lot les crowded.
