Brother you should seriously consider that 248 you posted earlier, with that F250 and the conditon it appears to be in you are looking at one of the best all around fishing boats at any price, put some money into a radar system and/or electronics package and you have something special.
The Grady;s are nice but overpriced and make sure you go with a newer model as the older ones have some serious issues, SV2 Hull of course if you value your spine

Slotster...I asked on THT what years different model GWs went to Sea 2V hulls...here's what I got back...hope it helps in your search...

28ft- 1989
26ft- 1991
22-25ft- 1992
208-209ft- 1993
192ft- 1994
180ft- 1998
Just sold my Seacraft and looking at a 22ft Seafarer. Not alot out there in the CV2 hull for sale at a decent price, people are not really budging on the prices. I have cash now and just waiting for the other end to come down some....

I stand corrected...wonder why they didn't change all in the same year. Seems kinda silly.

They are great boats, my buddies is a 1987 24 footer and it is a good boat, it is heavy as heck and in big swells it does good. But in the normal chop or sloppy seas it rides like crap. He cant stand it either. My V20 rides thru the same stuff much better.
The other issue is that during the 70's into the late eighties Grady used a plywood that did not nold up well along with the issue of they used staples to hold the sheets together in the transom. Guess what happens to staples soaked in moisture for a few years.
Up here there are two or three mariners that are good glass and transom men. They told me that the old Grady;s make up a large percentage of their rebuilds because of it.

My guess would be too big a capital investment to plop down in one year...even for GW...new engineering, hydro-testing, molds, donuts, etc...adds up...and time wise it'd be a crunch to get 'em all done in one model year...plus they mighta wanted to make SURE of the new design before goin' ALL IN!...

Oh, if yer wonderin' about the donuts?...engineers are worse than cops...they luvs them, some donutz!!...

Those are two boats I would cheat on you guys in a heartbeat for! The 228 with bracket is awesome and the 23 gulfstream is equally sweat. I am not sure what years you are looking at but if you can get a 23 with the SeaV2 hull, rides a lot better. My parents owned an '87 that was awesome, that 9 foot beam makes the boat feel like at least 25'. Good luck on the hunt. Have you been over to greatgrady.com? They usually have a 22 or 23'r in the classified section.

If your looking for a center console in that size range, forget the GRADY and find a DUSKY 233. That's my opinion on the matter anyways. If your going to cheat on your V, you might as well do it with a boat designed off of the V-20(just bigger, and better).
