OMG!! Tell me you are lying Parrot! I know of a guy who got his leg ripped from knee to ankle by an angry green wahoo. Needless to say, I've learned my lesson. Based on your feedback I was REAL lucky. I think I just kinda kicked him in the mouth, more so than getting bit.

CT, its cool. Just an old "war" wound. Plus if it hadn't happend to me it would have happened to one of us sooner or later. Who knows this thread might help prevent it from happening to someone on this site....and as Parrot points out, it could have been a lot worse.

Slowly the feeling seems to be coming back in my foot. Its over 50% better already.

I'm thinking I'll wear shoes next time....I won't be letting a green one loose on the deck anymore either. That SOB running the video camera can go ahead and open the fish box for me LOL. Either that or we can just drag one behind the boat until we're ready to gaf the other one. Those 2 fish were the last 2 of our limit that day at 11:30 am. Good times and smooth water. Can't wait to go after the dolphin again in May off of Hatteras.

Thats one lesson i learned the hard way. Always wear your shoes !!!!!!!! I took mine off in the morning to throw the net on the beach for some pinfish. Never put them back on. Big mistake. It happened so fast, cut threw the toe like it was butter. The bad thing was we were 40 miles offshore in 8' seas. Took us about 5 hours to make it in. Went right to the Coast Guard station and had the ambulance waiting on me.You want to talk about blood!
Can't wait for this season though. We got Cobia coming up in about 50 days or so. Let the mayhem begin!!!!!!!!!

It will be at least May before I get to draw first blood. I'm jealous.

Do you take a billy club when you go for the cobia? I hear they can rip a boat (and you) to shreds or come out of the fish box.

I never take a billy to them.We always just pitch them in the cooler or fish box and make my son sit on it for about 45 minutes to an hour. You have to be really quick. Sometimes the reel fight begins when you get them on board. If your not careful they can beat you to death. I took a billy club to one back in 95 and the club came back at me at about mach 2.Struck me in the center of my forhead and knocked me out cold. Now that i think about it,every time ive been hospitalized its been because of fishing. Wow, this is a dangerous sport. But man do i love it. Im guess im the "Tim Taylor" of fishing!!!!!
