The upper incomes have always been taxed more. It has been this way since 1913. it's just that the repubs have given the uppers more tax breaks. If this is socialism then we've been socialist for a long time.

sorry Mac and Blue but you have missed the boat all together. First of all a little tid bit that the media will not give you, your taxes, your taxes are going to go up immediatly, How? like this, in 2003 Bush got a tax bill passed that basically eliminated taxes for those making under 40 g's and reduced them across the board for every one, yes even those evil wealthy people Obama wants to lynch in 2009 and take their money and give it to the masses like Fidel.
You see Obama is not saying anything about the fact that he and Pelosi and Reed are going to let the tax cuts expire, on purpose, so all you wealthy guys making 40-200 gs a year bend over because your taxes are going up in 09 by a minimum of 17% which is what you got from that evil Bush.
You see Bush's tax cuts spurred one of the greatest 8 year economic periods in this country since Reagan. But just like Reagan he is strattled with a democratic congress that spent even more than we took in and therefore the deficit grew, and grew.
This economic growth occurred in spite of a tragic attack on our country and two wars we fought. But the economic pickle we are in now is not about Bush's tax cuts, it is not about de-regulation as the media would like you to believe, it is about the liberal control and manipulation of the banking industry and regulating them into massive social engineering, in spite of being warned on 17 occassions by the Bush administration trying to get them to pursue basic common sense banking and fiduciary regulations and being told by Obama, Barney Franks and Chris Dodd and Shumer that it was not needed and that the evil conservatives were trying to hold down the needy people in this country from getting into home ownership.
You see you fellows have fallen into the class warfare psychological bantering that has led the democratic rise to power in this country for decades. What you fail to see is this country does not restrict what anyone makes, it rewards prosperity and entreprnuership and respects the freedoms of the individual to make what he can of himself.

what your party represents now is a socialism disease that has failed miserably all over the world. you want to vote for a man who has a 100% track record of the following, he has assosiated himself with the worst **** that has lived in America, he has assosiated himself with a slum lord who is going to prison in chicago, he has lied thru his teeth to each group he has spoken to and told them what they wanted to hear and you apparently do not care.
He has told you point blank he is spending close to ONE TRILLION dollars we dont have in new government run programs
He has told you point blank that he is raising taxes on the very people who need to create jobs and the ones who drive the economy we all depend on, on the people who are now according to the NY Times you all love so much as the second highest corporate tax penalties in the world and why buisness is moving out of here in droves.
He isa going to do everything possible to remove the second amendment protections you have and I guarantee you confiscations will start shortly after.
He will do nothing but increase the power base of the new democratic party by doing nothing to prevent the illegal immigration in this country

I always respect the opinions of my fellow Americans but has been said before you really need to step back and decide whether you want America or you want France, or the Republick of Germany etc. Whether the things that your fathers and fore fathers fought and died for are worth preserving or do you want Pelosi Reed and Obama Socialist spread the wealth programs in our country
Ask yourselves this also, what would your father or grandfather do with this type of socialist candidate? I think you know

The wealthy already pay a majority of the taxes...we know that. Some think thats fair.

Look how many people in America don't pay ANY taxes at all. And, look where that puts up....in a recession. So Obama is gonna make those people pay even less..and thats gonna fix stuff?

Just a thought.

I'm not rich. But I'm not envious of those who are. I hope to be there someday...when and if I am I will KNOW that I worked to get there. I don't want it if its handed to me because they took it from someone else.

As a young single white male working in the oil field, I feel I am getting screwed on taxes. I need to fake some kids or something. Or at least get out of the gulf and into international areas.

Punish the successful while encouraging the failures to breed, that will help us out.
