When I did mine I sanded and used resin and cloth to add to the bottom, this added back the material that was lost and sealed the bottom.
Sanded nice and since my boat was painted I just repainted.

I agree with above, you must seal it before you add gelcoat or anything else.

Good Luck

Did mine the same way as you MJ, resin and cloth. Been about 4 yrs now no problems. Made it smooth then added bottom paint. Can't tell at all.

People i started sanding the bottom paint with a 220grit sand!? is this ok?

Now after i finish removing all, which paint i need to buy? How many coats do i need to add and do i have to use a primer or something like a gelcoat barrier and where do buy these stuff?

Please if someone can give me exact detail of each product i need to buy or if there is an easy guide online let me know. thanks alot

You can use it to store the boat under when you're done, one of the portable canopys would work as a paint booth. The ones from Sams Club has sides, usually around $200.

Careful about the accumulation of fumes while you're in there, wouldn't suggest a fan either. Just spray a section, let the vapors settle then do another section.

Nice canopy i will have in mind to see if i can get it.
Just now i separate the trailer from the boat to prepare things up.

I need to replace several rust parts on the trailer and i need an economic place to buy the parts from, like the 8 Vertical Bunk Brackets and a few square U-bolts, also i will need some tires.

My bottom was in the same condition. I used West system and then painted the bottom
with barrier coat and with black bottom coat.
