well, finally I have power and internet again so I can post an update. During the storm the surge came up pretty high in Corpus, flooded some of North Padre Island and North Beach. I drove back to Houston right after the storm and found my house with no fence, missing shingles, and no power or water. When I came inside, I found my dinning room roof on the floor with insulation and sheetrock covering everything. It sucks but at least I still have a house. I know that many in Galveston and Crystal Beach are in worst shape.

sounds like you got off pretty easy compared to others. Glad your house is still there

There's a picture of a lone beach-front house that stood while all around it fell to the waves...whoever built that house is oughtta be named "Builder of the Year!!"
