Unfortunately the 93+ OCEANRUNNERS are THIRSTY! The finger port motors make excellent power, and are very reliable. But them finger port motors have a very restrictive exhaust, and the finger ports waste more fuel during the overlap period. I know the earlier(88-92) are still thirsty, but not quite as wasteful.

The tach doesn't work right now but the boat will do about 40mph full throttle, a little more on glass. The prop seems to be right and it has no dings. With no tach I'm not sure how fast it goes at 4000 rpm, but I think it's over 25 mph. I ordered on of those manuals on CD off ebay so I could fix the tach but it was unreadable. Ordered a real printed manual and it should be in soon. Guess if I can fix it by the weekend this gives me a reason to go to the lake and try it out. I'll check the timing and floats once the manual comes in.
I think I once read something about the fuel pump seal leaking fuel straight into the crankcase.

Half.com
Was supposed to be in excellent condition. I think the seller was high when making the listing, evidenced by the marijuana leaf I found between the pages. Usually books I buy off there are better than described. This one's still readable but dirty and water stained.

I have a 1996 loop 225 Ocean Pro with a 19 pitch ss Viper prop (in average condition) and I get on the average 2 mpg while cruising. My top speed with 4 adults, 2 cases of beverage, 60 lbs of ice and 40 gallons of gas is 48mph and thats at 6000 rpms (which was probably 1 mpg). I usually cruise between 3400 - 3800 rpms at a speed of 24-28 mph. I think a 21 pitch would be a perfect prop for me since I don't pull skiers or wakeboarders. I have not made the investment on a new prop since I'm thinking of re-powering with an f-150. Hope this info will help.
