Stink....as a fellow Dakota owner and someone who seems to know boats and cars inside out, I have a question for you. My Dakota AC doesn't work. The clutch does not engage (click) at all even if I use a jumper to force it. I have lived with it this way for a while but what do you think the fix is? The coolant is very full.

There are spacers in the clutch that may need a couple of them removed.
One way to tell is, if it engauges initally and then releases at higher rpms.
We found this out on 3 Chrysler products after exhausting everything else.
Basically the electromagnet can't now support the clutch due to the wear on the clutch.
Many compressors have been replaced due to this, when removing some of the spacers would give the clutch a couple of more years of use.
