self draining cockpit for 1975 CC?

obviously Im not either- but it looks like it would drain but if it didnt it would be a waste and I figured that had been addressed before. THe "grate" is just a teak flush hatch that lets deck water into bildge where it can go out a bilge pump or drain plug.
