Slot...I think we're gonna find the tank was never "IN" the console, but "UNDER" the console, IN the floor ... I think there has been a confusion in terms on this one ;) ...
WHOA!! ... just found Blue Lunch's Gallery...'74 CC he did beautiful full resto-job ... clearly shows new fuel-tank sittin' ON the deck...aw heck...here ya go...  Says "installed" and that's right where the console goes...so there goes the ''confusion in terms'' theory ;) ...
